News that Ariana Grande and John Legend were covering “Beauty And The Beast” in the upcoming live action remake felt like cruel and unusual punishment for fans of the original. Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson’s Academy Award/Grammy-winning original can’t be touched, so why even bother? It comes as something of a consolation to learn then that the Canadian diva is still part of the soundtrack. “I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be performing a new song, ‘How Does A Moment Last Forever’ for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast,” she tweeted this morning (January 19).

2017 is shaping up to be a big year for the vocal legend. After reestablishing herself as the queen of the French-speaking world with Encore Un Soir (the album has sold just under a million copies in France and Canada), Celine is turning her attention to the follow-up to 2013 opus Loved Me Back To Life. She has already shared one song from the project (Pink-penned ballad “Recovering”) and recently went viral with a stunning cover of Sia’s “My Love.” A cut on a Disney blockbuster can only help her cause. See Celine’s tweet below.
