Goldfrapp Announce New Album ‘Silver Eye’, Release Lead Single “Anymore”: Listen

After several teases regarding Goldfrapp’s upcoming seventh studio album, all has been revealed. The duo’s latest, Silver Eye, will be released on March 31 via Mute. Ten songs make up the LP, including the curiously-titled “Faux Suede Drifter” and lead single “Anymore.”

Gone, it seems, are the lush orchestrations of previous Goldfrapp album Tales Of Us, the ’80s-leaning pop of 2010’s Head First and the folky nature of 2008’s Seventh Tree. Instead — at least as far as “Anymore” goes — the pair seem to be exploring further the electro sound they first mined for their blockbuster LP Supernature. To help shape the project, Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory worked with producers John Congleton and The Haxan Cloak.

“We’ve never liked repeating ourselves,” Alison Goldfrapp says in a press release. “Often we react to things we’ve just done. We like the spontaneity of not knowing. It’s only through the process that we start to figure out what it is. The fans who have stuck with us are the ones who embrace that idea and are excited by the thought that they don’t know quite what to expect next.”

You can pre-order Silver Eye now on iTunes and receive “Anymore” as an instant download, or stream the song on Spotify. Catch the album’s tracklist below.
