Cloves Returns With "Better Now"
Cloves continues to impress with moody, new single "Better Now."

Cloves has been generating since 2015 when stripped-back ballad “Don’t You Wait” came out of nowhere to be greeted with universal blog love. The Australian singer/songwriter kept the momentum going with impressive debut EP, XIII — a stripped-back, four-song set that showcases her honey-dipped, melancholy vocals. She returned last summer with a song on the Me Before You soundtrack and ended the year with a new track called “Better Now.” The video for the brooding Justin Parker-produced break-up anthem arrives today (January 24) and it packs a punch.

The visual finds Kaity Dunstan (her real name) alone in a dark room with only a drummer and a sea of lamps for company. That’s ok, because the rising star’s expressive face is more than enough to hold your attention. “Better Now” is the first taste of Cloves debut LP, which is expected to arrive this year. The song hints at a bolder, fuller sound and is destined to be a highlight of the singer’s live show. (She’s touring North America with Michael Kiwanuka in May and June). Watch the video up top.
