Music Is Saved! Cascada Plots A Comeback
German dance act Cascada is working on a comeback with new single "Run."

A couple of weeks ago I posted a preview of Cascada’s new single and was surprised by the semi-positive response. It tuns out, I’m not the only one with fond memories of the trio. Sure, they delivered their fair share of stinkers (“Night Nurse” left scars on my eardrums) and went through that weird Lady Gaga phase (although, “Evacuate The Dancefloor” > “Just Dance”), but the Germans did cheesy Euro-pop better than most.

How does their new material hold up? Well, Natalie Horler & friends pick up where they left off on “Run.” The track is a little more subdued than their mid-’00s club bangers, but it boasts a massive chorus and a cute drop. In other words, this will be on high rotation in gyms and gay nightclubs for years to come! “What are we doing here now that life is hunting us into the wrong,” the blond bombshell ponders, before the song kicks into high-gear: “Until we run, high off the love we’d rather be living on.” It’s not going to win a Grammy, but “Run” gets my $1.29.
