Christina Aguilera Is Putting The “Finishing Touches” On Her 8th LP

2017 is shaping up to be a blockbuster year for pop divas. Katy Perry is breaking the internet on the daily with snippets of her new single, while newcomers Bebe Rexha and Zara Larsson are making waves with their respective album announcements. Throw in new eras from the Disney Trinity (Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez & Demi Lovato) and things are about to get hectic. A latecomer to the pop party is Christina Aguilera. The Lotus diva will finally rise up with her 8th LP. Yes, I know, we’ve heard it all before, but this time she has promised it in writing.

“Finishing touches to my heart,” Xtina tweeted a black-and-white graphic superimposed on a CD case. (Artistic!) That’s not exactly enlightening, but the project has been underway since at least 2014 and it’s a case of now or never. “I’ve been loosely working on it the last couple of years,” she told The Hollywood Reporter way back in February, 2016. “But I really started toward the middle and end of last year to really buckle down and meet with new collaborators and producers, people I want to work with and people I have never worked with before.”

Who are these new collaborators? Well, Christina has been in the studio with Grammy-nominated producer Ricky Reed, “Exes & Ohs” hitmaker Elle King, “Beautiful” collaborator Linda Perry and Max Martin. The vocal giant also hit the studio with Da internz, Mike Del Rio and Alex Da Kid a couple of years ago, but I’m guessing those session have passed their used-by-date. I’m glad to hear something is finally on its way. However, given today’s cutthroat market, she better come out swinging. See Xtina’s tweet below.
