Maroon 5 & Future Drop Icy Break-Up Anthem On Valentine’s Day

There’s nothing like a little counter-programming. If you’re feeling miserable this Valentine’s Day, Maroon 5’s latest is the song for you! “Cold” is every bit as icy as the title suggests. “Cold enough to chill my bones, it feels like I don’t know you anymore,” Adam Levine seethes on the chorus. “I don’t understand why you’re so cold to me, with every breath you breathe.” Future compounds the message with his snappy verse. “We goin’ two separate ways,” he laments. “You ain’t been actin’ the same.”

Don’t be too surprised if “Cold” becomes Maroon 5’s 13th top 10 hit. It’s catchy, relatable and probably going to be played hourly on pop & rhythmic radio for the next three months. The song also promises good things for the band’s sixth LP. Lead single “Don’t Wanna Know” found the guys edging outside their comfort zone with electronic production and a rap feature, and their new track continues that journey. “Cold” was co-written by Jacob Kasher, John Ryan, Justin Tranter and Phil Shaouy.
