On The Verge: 25 Artists To Watch In 2017
We've put together a list of 25 artists on the brink of very big things in 2017.

Well, this is welcome surprise! Amy Lee is back with a soaring ballad called “Love Exists,” which is a cover of sorts. “When I was in Italy… I fell in love with a song I heard on the radio there,” the Evanescence singer explains. That song was Francesca Michielin’s “L’amore Esiste” and it made a lasting impression. “It seemed to follow me everywhere, got under my skin and just wouldn’t leave,” the 35-year-old continues. She then put her own spin on the lyrics and called up producer Guy Sigsworth to pull it all together.

Why does the song resonate with her? “Love is anything but simple,” Amy muses. “It manifests itself in countless forms. It can be inconvenient. Painful. Easier to ignore than to trust. Can we be brave enough to love, knowing it’s going to hurt? Can we drop our cynicism long enough to see beyond the frustrations, the discontentment, the fear of the unknown and the anger for all we can’t control? Love is all around. Even in the darkest places. And it is worth everything. Look out, look in. Love exists.”

Amy’s latest sounds like the best power ballad Celine Dion never sang — albeit with a pleasing twist of darkness. Excitingly, this is only the beginning of the rock queen’s 2017 resurgence. She has a song called “Speak To Me” on the Voice From The Stone soundtrack (due in April) and is back in the studio working on a new Evanescence album. The press release even promises new music this year. Hell, yes! Six years have passed from 2011’s self-titled LP and I’m ready for more. Fall for “Love Exists” below.
