Lana Del Rey Returns With "Love"
It was worth the wait! We review Lana Del Rey's glorious new single "Love."

“Someone told me there’s a girl out there, with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair,” Led Zeppelin mused on “Going To California.” Robert Plant sang those words 46 years ago, but they still apply to Lana Del Rey today (February 20) as past and present collide in the video for new single, “Love.” She begins the clip in full retro-mode, belting out her love letter to youth in front of a microphone with with daisies adorning her long locks. Nobody does vintage better than LDR, but things soon take an unexpected turn.

The Honeymoon chanteuse, who wrote the song for fans navigating the restlessness and confusion of young adulthood, retreats as we see vignettes of kids from multiple eras (the act of taking a selfie has never looked more beautiful) doing typical kid-things. Director Rich Lee then turns everything upside down, when we realize that the action — including Lana’s dreamy performance — is happening on the moon. I don’t know how the 31-year-old continues to mine the past with such sincerity and originality. Dive into the breathtaking clip up top.
