Katy Perry is really taking the woke-pop movement seriously. The Brit Awards-conquering diva shared a new snippet on Instagram today (February 28) and it’s distinctly political in nature. “I won’t no, I won’t apologize,” she chants. “I will not, will not subscribe. Don’t ask me, ask me to normalize.” It’s not accompanied by music, which has Katy Cats wondering if it’s part of a campaign for an upcoming protest as opposed to a taste of KP4. Whatever the case may be, kudos to the “Chained To The Rhythm” hitmaker for fighting the good fight.

Speaking of Katy’s woke bop, “Chained To The Rhythm” is shaping up to be an important milestone in her career. She already waved goodbye to the light and fluffy pop of Teenage Dream on Prism (listen to the second half), but this takes her artistry to a whole new level. Happily, fans seem to be going along for the ride. The track debuted at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is still lodged in the iTunes top 10. The subversive video is also racking up those YouTube views. Listen to a snippet of something new (?) below.
