Her follow-up to '1989' will drop before Christmas, according to good friend Ed Sheeran.

Freak-folk singer Father John Misty already has a strange relationship with pop, between writing for Lady Gaga, covering Rihanna faithfully and using an acid trip at a Taylor Swift concert as inspiration for Lana Del Rey‘s eerie “Freak” video. As seen last night during his Saturday Night Live debut, that relationship just got stranger. He premiered a new song, “Total Entertainment Forever,” that imagines virtual reality sex with the 1989 star.

“Bedding Taylor Swift every night inside the Oculus Rift / After mister and missus finish dinner and the dishes / And now the future’s definition is so much higher than last year,” he sings.

Granted, “Total Entertainment Forever” actually isn’t some full-blown sexual fantasy. It plays out more of an episode of sci-fi series Black Mirror, where Father John Misty paints a bleak portrait of a dystopian future with nothing but screens to satisfy us. “When the historians find us, we’ll be in our homes / plugged into our hubs, skin and bones / A frozen smile on every face / as the stories replay / This must have been a wonderful place,” he later sings.

Watch Father John Misty perform “Total Entertainment Forever,” along with the title track of his upcoming album Pure Comedy, below.
