Mariah Carey Covers George Michael’s “One More Try” Live: Watch
Mariah Carey paid tribute to the late George Michael at the Dubai Jazz Festival Friday night (March 31). She sang an abbreviated version of “One More Try,” the raw ballad off his 1987 debut Faith. “I always loved it, I always loved him. He was a really great person,” Mariah said, sighing. “So we’ll make it through this.”
Mariah performed this cover as heard in 2014’s Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse. This rendition delighted fans, including George himself, if not had them wishing they would record a duet version. “thank u for recording One more try,” George said on Twitter. “Such an honour 2 have one of the best voices in the world singing my song.”
