Wrabel Talks "11 Blocks" & His Debut LP
We speak to Wrabel about breakthrough hit "11 Blocks" and his debut LP.

After conquering HAC radio with “11 Blocks,” Wrabel leaves piano-pop behind on “Bloodstain” — returning to the electronica of “I Want You.” While the soundscape is different, the subject matter hasn’t changed. The singer/songwriter is still singing about matters of the heart, more specifically the scars they leave. “Been in and out of love since I was 19, opening my heart has left a bloodstain,” he begins the song. “And I don’t know how to make a man stay, maybe I’ve been putting my heart out in the wrong way.”

Don’t worry, there’s a happy ending of sorts. “I’m gonna pull myself together, gonna wait till it’s forever,” Wrabel declares towards the end of the song. “Gonna find someone who’ll stay, who’s not afraid of what I’m asking for.” The video arrives today (April 6) and it’s a suitably emo affair. The 28-year-old basically lies in bed and bleeds from his broken heart, before being taken to the hospital. It’s very literal and very dramatic. Watch the clip up top and check out the epic Galantis remix here if you haven’t already had the pleasure.
