Astrid S Talks "Breathe" & Her New EP
We speak to Astrid S about "Breathe," Scandi-pop and her new EP.

Astrid S dropped a new single called “Bloodstream” this morning (April 7) and it’s her second perfect pop anthem in a row. Produced by Humble & Blisse, it’s a hazy, electronic fever-dream that harks back to her early oeuvre. But we already knew that. “The next thing I’m releasing is actually very different from ‘Breathe,’” the Norwegian pop star revealed in our Q&A. “It’s a lot more left of center, urban and dark. Have you heard a song called ‘Hyde’ that I released?” she asked. “It’s more in that direction, which is exciting.”

Never one to waste time, Astrid also released the video today. What happens? She’s haunted by an old love on the streets of Los Angeles and soaks up more misery at each new landmark. It complements “Bloodstream” perfectly, a song the 20-year-old lists as one of her favorites. “We’ve spent so much time on it, and I made it with some of my best friends and favorite producers and writers. I would say that it’s a little bit more dark and urban than my previous songs, but it’s one of my favorite songs that I’ve written.” Watch up top.
