Nicki Minaj’s “No Frauds” Video Isn’t Very Subtle

Nicki Minaj doesn’t have a subtle bone in her body. The self-professed Queen of Rap is very protective of her throne as the constant stream of shade she throws at competitors attests. She also isn’t afraid of reminding the world of her rank, as she does in her exceedingly literal “No Frauds” video. The clip begins with the 34-year-old sitting on a golden throne in a palace. The “Anaconda” hitmaker then steps outside and it becomes apparent that she’s in Great Britain, posing on buildings and in the streets near monuments.

In another segment, Nicki rocks a sheer bodysuit and hangs out with Drake in a club. Later on, Lil Wayne makes a cameo as the king to her queen. Of course, “No Frauds” is the response to Remy Ma’s biting “Shether.” “What type of bum bitch shoot a bitch over a rap? What type of mother leave her one son over a stack?” she snipes in reference to her rival’s arrest. “Lil’ Boogie Down basic bitch thinkin’ she back, back to back, oh you mean, back to wack.” The track debuted at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, but has been in free-fall ever since. The video, up top, should help turn that around.
