Remix: Shura Gives Astrid S’ “Breathe” A Dreamy Makeover

The “Breathe” remixes keep on coming! Last week, LAUV blessed New Music Friday with a mellow overhaul of Astrid S’ icy bop. Shura takes the song in a very different direction today (April 21). The Brit, who released one of the best albums of 2016 with Nothing’s Real, drags the anthem into her dreamy pop sphere, padding the sparse production of the original with lush synths. I don’t have the credits, but I’m fairly certain she even joins the Norwegian diva on the chorus. That accent is unmistakable.

What is Astrid up to apart from dropping amazing remixes? Well, she makes a surprise cameo on a new version of The Vamps & Matoma’s “All Night” and recently released a new single called “Bloodstream.” It’s less pop than “Breathe,” but every bit as intoxicating. The 20-year-old is also putting the finishing touches on her second EP, which is expected to drop in May. While we wait for that, check out Shura’s brilliant makeover below.
