Jennifer Hudson Performs “Remember Me” On ‘The Ellen Show’
Jennifer Hudson released the best single of her career earlier this year and she’s hoping people will realize it with a series of live performances. The 35-year-old belted out “Remember Me” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today (April 26) and, as usual, put on a vocal master class. The big-lunged diva even switched up the pace towards the end with a nice back-and-forth with her backing singers. However, the best moment comes when she pulls the trigger and starts hitting notes that give the other girls anxiety.
Co-written by Jamie Hartman (Rag’N’Bone Man’s “Human”), the lead single from Jennifer’s fourth LP is soaring mid-tempo ballad with gut-wrenching lyrics. “So do you remember me in those moments just before you sleep?” she pleads on the gospel-tinged chorus. “I know you remember me, swear to me the memory isn’t sweet.” It’s a song that the Grammy/Oscar winner is clearly passionate about. “As an artist, when I discover music that I connect with deeply, it brings me a sense of excitement that I can’t put into words,” J Hud explains. Watch up top.
