Cashmere Cat's "9 (After Coachella)" Video
Cashmere Cat's "9 (After Coachella)" video is a mini documentary about his life.

Sia’s vocal delivery is so striking that singers are often tempted to imitate her demos (see Rihanna’s “Sledgehammer,” Britney Spears’ “Perfume” and Lea Michele’s “Cannonball,” for starters). You can add Ariana Grande to the list of divas that have succumbed. She channels the Australian singer/songwriter on “Quit,” a raunchy tropical bop from Cashmere Cat’s star-studded debut LP, 9 (out tomorrow). It’s probably the most commercial song on the Norwegian’s album, but lacks the oddball charm of “9 (After Coachella).”

“When you said, ‘Baby I just want you to lay me down and we’ll fuck the pain away,'” Ariana coos on a verse. “Cause skin on skin I feel nothing but the burning of desire.” It becomes apparent that she’s singing about an doomed relationship that she can’t quite escape. “But here deep inside lives a voice, a voice so quiet,” she wails. “But I can hear the voice when your heartbeat’s next to mine. I can’t quit you.” Listen to the Sia-penned/inspired banger below.
