Kygo & Selena Gomez's "It Ain't Me" Video
Kygo and Selena Gomez's "It Ain't Me" video is a near-death experience.

Kygo caught lightning in a bottle with “It Ain’t Me.” Voiced by Selena Gomez, the moody anthem went top 10 in more than a dozen countries and should repeat the feat stateside next week. (It’s currently sitting at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100). Not only that, but the first taste of the DJ’s sophomore LP has been streamed a staggering 280 million times on Spotify. No doubt, he’s hoping for similar success with the follow-up — a similarly reflective, but comparatively upbeat banger called “First Time.”

A collaboration with Ellie Goulding (her first release since last year’s Bridget Jones’s Baby ballad “Still Falling For You”), Kygo’s latest is nostalgic reflection on young love. “Getting drunk on a train track, way back when we tried our first cigarettes,” the British pop star sings on the tropical-tinged chorus. “Ten dollars was a fat stack, I’d do it all again.” There is a gentle drop, but this feels like it was created for radio instead of clubs.
