Bebe Rexha Samples Whitney Houston On New Single “The Way I Are”

Bebe Rexha's 'All Your Fault Pt. 1': EP Review
Bebe Rexha delivers six superior pop anthems on 'All Your Fault Pt. 1.'

Bebe Rexha released the first half of her debut LP, All Your Fault Pt. 1, in February. The six-song set delivered top 50 hit “I Got You” as well as killer buzz tracks “Fuck Fake Friends” and “Bad Bitch.” The latter, in particular, is shaping up to be something of a streaming smash, but it won’t be the next single. That honor goes to the first taste of Pt. 2 — “The Way I Are” (not a Timbaland cover). The 27-year-old opened up about the track in a new radio interview, revealing that it interpolates a Whitney Houston classic.

“So I have a single coming off of [the second half] called ‘The Way I Are’ featuring Lil Wayne and it’s… taken from the Whitney Houston song ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody,'” Bebe gushed. “So the hook is ‘I just wanna dance with somebody, I just wanna dance with somebody.’ So it’s really cool and Wayne does a crazy verse on it.” She then gave some details. “We just shot an awesome video with director X, who did Drake “Hotline Bling” the video. So we did an awesome video with him. I’m excited for the world to hear it… it’s coming out in two weeks.” Watch the interview below.
