Niall Horan Performs New Song “On The Loose”: Watch

Liam Payne's Debut Single
It's official! Liam Payne kicks off his solo era with ''Strip That Down'' featuring Quavo.

Niall Horan performed a new song during Channel 933’s Summer Kick Off Concert in Chula Vista, California yesterday (May 12). Like “Slow Hands,” the One Direction member’s latest is a pop-rock track that strikes a balance between earthy and contemporary. Unlike that sexy single, though, this new song sounds like a cautionary tale.

“I know what she’s like / she’s out of her mind / and wraps herself around the truth,” Niall sings to begin. “She’ll jump on that flight and meet you that night / and make you tear up the room.” This unreleased track is titled “On the Loose,” as in this girl Niall knows will steal your heart.

Looks like Niall is gaining momentum with his solo era. Yesterday “Slow Hands” debuted at No. 3 on Billboard + Twitter’s Top Tracks chart. (The only songs that did better were BTS‘ “Not Today” and Harry Styles“Sweet Creature.”) “Slow Hands” also just entered the Hot 100, though it’s bound to climb higher soon.

Niall has yet to announce a release date for his solo album. But at least his new music has a clear direction. While listing Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles and Crosby, Stills and Nash as influences, he told Entertainment Weekly that his upcoming songs are “folk-with-pop feel to it.”
