BTS On Their Global Success: Interview
The K-pop group talks about touring America and the secret of their mega-success.

To the surprise of absolutely no K-Pop fan anywhere, BTS have taken home the Billboard Music Award for Top Social Artist. The Korean chart-toppers beat Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Shawn Mendes for the trophy, and by no small margin either. One website reports that the boys racked up a staggering 300,000,000 votes! While that number might be a bit of an exaggeration, K-Pop fans are notorious for winning virtually every online poll in existence, so BTS’ victory was basically guaranteed from the start.

Overall, it’s been a huge night for the boys. Vogue magazine named them one of the best dressed acts at the BBMAs, and the band were spotted mingling with The Chainsmokers before the show. Could a collaboration be on the cards? The “Closer” hitmakers tweeted that they would see BTS “this summer,” which is a pretty big hint that the stars have something planned together. Interestingly, BTS were also spotted with Chainsmokers vocalist Halsey!

Last year, BTS made history on the Billboard 200 when their sophomore album Wings debuted at No. 26 to become the highest-charting album to land on Billboard. The album, along with its re-release, have since sold over a million copies worldwide. They then embarked on a North American arena tour, which they promptly sold out in seconds (you can read our review here). At this rate, they’ll probably have a Grammy by this time next year!
