Iggy & Anitta's "Switch" Is A Sassy Bop
Iggy Azalea teams up with Brazilian superstar Anitta for a summery bop called "Switch."

Iggy Azalea can’t take a break. The rapper revealed that Digital Distortion would drop on June 30 in a series of radio interviews last week and was then informed by her label that it wasn’t happening. The “Team” hitmaker then fired up Snapchat to share the news with her understandably frustrated fans. Only the rapper didn’t stop there. She put her label on blast, called out execs for ignoring her and announced that the album now has no official release date. And then a bunch of new tracks leaked.

At this point, you have to wonder if Iggy should just scrap Digital Distortion and try again. The project has been seemingly doomed from the get-go, with endless delays and other setbacks — including an unfinished version of the “Switch” video leaking. (What is going on at Def Jam?) It’s a shame, because the music has been good. And what I’ve heard of the rest of the album is equally on-point. Highlights include the Zedd-produced “Boom Boom” (which sounds like it has an uncredited Bebe Rexha feature) and “Elephant.” Oh, and “Typo” is actually called “Calm Down.”

What does Iggy do now? Continue promoting “Switch,” which is actually starting to gain a little momentum on Spotify, and pretend like nothing has happened or rush-release the album and hope for the best? Time will tell. In the meantime, have a listen to two of the best new Digital Distortion tracks below.
