A Morbid Look Into The Outrageous Career Of GG Allin
GG Allin is a name for which all punk rockers tend to nod their heads in approval. For them, he’s the ultimate rebel in a world of yes-men and average Joes. It’s also the same name that brought fear to hundreds of people at shows along the East Coast. While Marilyn Manson and GWAR have carried the shock rock banner, there’s no denying that GG set the standard. We take a look at some interesting facts about his career and some wild stage antics that only he was daring enough to attempt. There’s a reason why this singer is known as “the most spectacular degenerate in rock & roll history.”
Hanging Out With Jim
Before becoming one of the most controversial rockers of all time, GG Allin, who originally started out as a drummer, started playing music with his older brother Merle. When he was attending Concord High School in Concord, Vermont, they formed a cover band called Little Sister’s Date, and they were mainly playing covers of hard rock outfits such as Aerosmith and KISS at random venues in the area.
The band only lasted a year, but GG and Merle continued to play together in the punk rock outfit Malpractice. This band lasted twice as long as Little Sister’s Date.
