Katy Perry's 'Witness': Album Review
Katy Perry boldly explores club sub-genres on her banger-heavy new album.

It is the feud that won’t die. Katy Perry’s 4th studio album Witness drops today (June 9) and while out promoting, the “Bon Appetit” songstress fielded questions about her ongoing beef with Taylor Swift. She explained that, from her point of view, Swift is out to give her a bad name and she’s not taking it lying down.

“I mean, I’m not Buddha — things irritate me. I wish that I could turn the other cheek every single time, but I’m also not a pushover, you know?” Perry said when asked by NME recently if their highly publicized feud is undermining her message of love and community. “Especially when someone tries to assassinate my character with little girls [their fans]. That’s so messed up!” And although telling her side of the story with James Corden during a recent Carpool Karaoke session most definitely spurred the controversy on, the 32-year-old revealed that she was relieved to share exactly how this beef went down from her perspective.

“Well James Corden makes me and the whole world feel very safe. No one asked me about my side of the story,” Katy said. “And there are three sides of every story: one, two and the truth.” Oh, and in case you hadn’t heard, Taylor Swift opted to make her entire catalogue available today on all streaming services. Pretty generous. It should also put a serious dent in Perry’s streaming numbers. So, in case you were worried, the “Bad Blood” is most certainly still flowing.
