Rita Ora Debuts New Song “Lonely Together” At A Private Event
Rita Ora was the guest of honor at a private event at Annabel’s in London last night (June 27) and belted out “Your Song” in a shimmery, red dress. The Brit also debuted a new track called “Lonely Together,” which is very different in tone. “I know I can’t change you and I won’t change,” she sings on the mid-tempo, stripped-back song. “I might hate myself tomorrow, but I’m on my way tonight. Let’s be lonely together.” This could be a glimpse of the soulful, organic sound Rita promised on her debut/sophomore LP.
“I wrote everything on this record, it’s all live music, obviously mixed with some great beats,” Rita told Billboard in 2016. “It’s all about melody and my love for soul and harmonies. It’s the first time I’ve ever been proud of my music.” “Lonely Together” definitely fits that description with its rich, soulful delivery and meatier subject matter. It will be interesting to see how different the studio version sounds (fans are describing it as an acoustic), but this is promising. Watch the hitmaker do her thing below.
