Haim gets their groove back with perky bop 'Little Of Your Love.'

Selena Gomez still hasn’t got around to performing “Bad Liar,” but we finally have some idea how the Talking Heads-sampling bop would sound live. Haim covered the song for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge and stayed remarkably true to the original. The trio added a few interesting flourishes, however, like swapping out drums for a coffee tin and cups. Impressively, that only added to the retro charm and neat minimalism of the summer smash. At this point, “Bad Liar” is arguably the coolest pop song of 2017 with universal praise and alt-pop supporters.

As for Haim, the siblings just dropped their sophomore LP. Something To Tell You has garnered impressive reviews, but is yet to produce a substantial hit. They introduced the album with “Right Now,” but it lacked the hooks and powerful chorus of “The Wire” or “Forever.” They followed that up with the mellow “Want You Back,” but finally hit their stride with “Little Of Your Love” — the kind of rollicking West Coast pop/rock anthem that made Days Are Gone one of the better debut albums of the 2010s.
