CYN Signs To Katy Perry’s Unsub Records, Charms With “Together”
CYN follows in the glorious footsteps of Pop God Ferras to become the second artist signed to Katy Perry’s Unsub Records. The singer/songwriter recently dropped her debut single, “Together,” and it’s a delightfully delicate bop. “There’s no way I could be without you, you got a heart that beats in time with mine,” she sings over a fluttery bass-line. “Don’t wanna fight with nobody else, don’t come alive with nobody else, would be a lie with somebody else.” That takes us to the light and airy chorus: “I guess that’s why we go together together together.”
How did CYN cross paths with Katy? “I first met this little bird five years ago,” the “Swish Swish” hitmaker explained on Instagram. “She had come to see the California Dreams Tour.” The Michigan-born newcomer then moved mountains to get her music to Katy’s ears. “In those five years, she has crafted so many songs (and gotten a college degree!), and through sheer determination and will, those songs made their way back to me.”
“We have been working together for a year, and still, to this day, I smile when I hear the wink in her voice, the twist of the plot just as you start to think you’ve heard this love song before,” Katy continues. “‘Together’ is a song from a unique voice, and an even more unique woman.
