News that Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington was found dead in his Los Angeles home this morning (July 20) from an apparent suicide has rocked the music world. Celebrity fans, collaborators and close friends have jumped on social media to express their grief. “No words. so heartbroken. RIP Chester Bennington,” Imagine Dragons tweeted. “Oh dear God. Massive R.I.P to Chester Bennington of @linkinpark this BREAKS OUR HEART,” stated OneRepublic. “Suicide is the devil on earth walking amongst us.”

One of the most touching eulogies came from singer/songwriter Julia Michaels. “Last year I got to meet one of the most incredible musicians I’ve ever worked with,” she wrote on Instagram. “Every time I’d see him he had the biggest smile on his face and would make everybody in the room laugh. He had the brightest spirit and such a warm heart. He referred to me as a ‘cat’ and could outsing anybody. Rihanna agrees with that sentiment. “Literally the most impressive talent I’ve ever seen live! Vocal beast!” she shared.

Last year I got to meet one of the most incredible musicians I've ever worked with. Every time I'd see him he had the biggest smile on his face and would make everybody in the room laugh. He had the brightest spirit and such a warm heart. He referred to me as a "cat" and could outsing anybody :) today I am absolutely heartbroken. Chester, you will be missed. I didn't know you for long but in the time that I did know you, you and the boys taught me what it meant to have fun in all the chaos, how to make everything lighter in the heaviest of situations, and to believe in myself because you guys believed in me. Thank you for the memories and I will carry them always. Rest In Peace Chester. Much much love. #chester sending you guys @m_shinoda and @braddelson so much love today ❤️❤️
