Selena Gomez’s (Increasingly Scary) “Fetish” Video Gets A Release Date

Selena Gomez’s “Fetish” video is shaping up to be truly horrifying — in the best possible way! It looks like the pop star’s new visual, which was directed by Petra Collins, was inspired by scary movies. The pop star ventures into an ominous-looking freezer in latest preview. This follows the stills of the 25-year-old looking bored and doll-like in a very ’70s home and the snippet that showed Selena perched on a banquet table in a wet, yellow sundress. (It just happens to be raining inside the room).

With its eerie synth-scape and lyrics about origami-like sexual positions, “Fetish” is the quirkiest song of the triple threat’s career. (Yes, even more offbeat than the Talking Heads-sampling “Bad Liar”). As such, it’s only fitting that the visual be a mind-bending extravaganza. This is a real change of pace for Selena. She took a less-is-more approach to visuals during the Revival era and certainly never dabbled in anything this outrageous and adventurous at Disney. The “Fetish” video arrives on July 26.
