Katy Perry Is Filming A “Swish Swish” Video After All

Katy Perry is releasing a “Swish Swish” video after all. The pop star has teased a couple of stills from the belated clip on Instagram and it appears to have a basketball theme. In one pic, the “Feels” diva sits in the bleachers holding a giant cardboard cut-out of her head. In other, she gets hit in the face with a ball. There’s no sign of Nicki Minaj, but the featured rapper is certain to make a cameo. It all looks very relatable and tongue-in-cheek. I just wonder why it has taken so long to arrive.

Of course, the hitmaker didn’t leave fans entirely stranded. Katy called on gif queen Gretchen to star in the elaborate “Swish Swish” lyric video. The 58-year-old glamazon, who landed a string of hits in the ’70s and ’80s with camp anthems like “Freak Le Boom Boom” and “Conga Conga Conga,” is a social media sensation thanks to her exaggerated facial expressions and penchant for drama. It was always destined to go viral and the highly-watchable visual has racked up more than 38 million views. See the stills below.
