PRETTYMUCH Will Make Their TV Debut At Teen Choice Awards
PRETTYMUCH will make their world TV debut at the Teen Choice Awards on August 13. The boy band, which was assembled by music mogul Simon Cowell, launched last week with throwback-bop “Would You Mind.” Co-written by hitmakers Jacob Kasher and Savan Kotecha, the New Edition/Bell Biv DeVoe-channeling track racked up more than one million streams in its first week — a number that should increase exponentially with the arrival of a music video and their upcoming awards show performance. After all, these kids can dance.
How did a group of teenagers settle on a retro-R&B sound for their debut single? “We have pretty good taste in music,” Brandon Arreaga asserted in our recent interview. “I think a lot of us like different genres. We all listen to a lot of older stuff anyway. Our parents obviously brought us up listening to certain stuff. My dad showed me a lot of Boyz II Men, Bobby Brown, that kind of era.” Expect them to bring some flashy choreography and ’90s showmanship to their first TV performance.
