New Music From Mandy Moore?
The '00s pop revival is real and the next comeback queen could be Mandy Moore.

Mandy Moore is enjoying a career renaissance at present with a starring role in hit TV show This Is Us and top-billing in box office hit 47 Meters Down. (Yes, that shark movie). With the 33-year-old’s profile higher than ever, it makes perfect sense to reboot her music career. “I want to return to music,” she told People magazine. “I don’t have a record label, but I have a lot of music written. Next year, I’ve decided I’m putting it out there!” Don’t get too excited just yet, however.

“I’ve been working on music steadily for the last couple of years,” the singer/actress told the Times Of India in 2015. “I guess 2016 will be the re-emergence of my music. That side of my life has been dormant for too long in my opinion.” Of course, Mandy never quite followed through on that promise. “I have a new zest for what I want to sing about… I don’t know how that’s going to manifest itself necessarily, but I’m excited to figure it out.” Hopefully, she has found a little clarity on that.

The Y2K pop sensation’s last album, the indie-pop experiment Amanda Leigh, arrived way back in 2009. It’s time to add to one of pop’s most underrated discographies.
