Good things come to those who wait. And I’ve waited a really, really long time for Dev’s sophomore LP, I Only See You When I’m Dreamin’ (due September 8). Six years, to be exact! That’s the amount of time that has passed since the arrival of 2011’s The Night The Sun Came Up. Of course, the “Like A G6” singer has kept busy since then — dropping a couple of EPs and stand-alone singles. But it’s not the same as an official era, which makes this a very exciting development.

According to the press release, collaborators include songwriting queen Sarah Hudson, MNDR, Marko Penn, Sam Sumser, Ritual, Isaac Valens and Mike Mac. As for the direction? “The album finds Dev reclaiming her bass-heavy hip-pop beats that shot her to chart stardom, but with a reinvigorated sense of singer-songwriter swagger.” Sounds good to me. If you pre-order the album (here), you will instantly receive lead single “All I Wanna Do” and sassy electro-pop anthem “Come At Me.”

Oh, and Dev is releasing an ode to sexting called “Drunk Texting” on Thursday (August 3). See the full tracklist of I Only See You When I’m Dreamin’ below.
