Pink Returns With 'What About Us'
Pink returns with a soaring and timely protest song called 'What About Us.'

Yesterday (August 15) MTV announced that Pink was this year’s recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the upcoming VMAs, which seems like a no-brainer given the commencement of her new era and gem-filled videography. However, a couple of major fan accounts were less than impressed. They were disappointed that Christina Aguilera was overlooked (she was reportedly in the mix) and decided to throw a little shade. But the “What About Us” singer had a little time on her hands and clapped back.

“Want to point out an awful new phenomenon of the last 10 years,” she responded to a hater. “We can no longer be happy for each other. I [love] Xtina, we’ve made amends.” Pink then elaborated with a string of tweets. “Music brings us all together. The best part of music is — there’s room for everyone to win at the same time. Don’t be what’s wrong w/da world.” The 37-year-old wasn’t quite finished. “Let’s be an example of inclusion and celebration,” she elaborated, “You don’t have to like me at all, I’m ok with that. Just be a decent person.” Well said.
