Anastacia Auditions For ‘Swedish Idol,’ Gets Dragged By The Judges
Well, here’s some out of the box promo! Anastacia, the big-lunged diva behind a string of ’00s hits, decided to promote her new album by auditioning for Swedish Idol in disguise. After belting out a Swedish version of “I’m Outta Love,” the 48-year-old switched to English and still failed to find any love from the judges. “I’m sorry, but you can’t sing really,” Nikki Amini declared. “You are not it, you’re much too nervous and it’s way too late,” Kishti Tomita added. The diva later returned and revealed her true identity.
“The judges may have realized it was me at certain points but I didn’t care, I knew I was kind of fooling them!” Anastacia said of the debacle. “Kishti telling me I was too nervous, that it was too late for me, man I was trying not to fall to the floor laughing!… and Kishti, woman to woman, it’s never too late! I got too much singing still to do for that!” How did the idea come about? The “Sick And Tired” singer worked with judge Anders Bagge on new single “Caught In The Middle” and new LP, Evolution.
