Jacob & Blackbear's 'Hit Me Back'
The year's most surprising collaboration belongs to Jacob Sartorius and Blackbear!

After a rocky start, Jacob Sartorius is finding his feet as a pop star. The 14-year-old social media sensation teamed up with Blackbear for the surprisingly great “Hit Me Back” earlier in the summer and he now turns to one-woman hit-machine Julia Michaels to pen his latest single. “Skateboard” is catchy, relatable (to his audience) and refreshingly age-appropriate. “I’m gonna ride this skateboard down the block like, forget my problems when I reach the top like,” he sings on the chorus.

“I’m gonna ride this skateboard down the block like, sun up until sundown trying not to think about you.” (It wouldn’t be a Julia Michaels’ creation without a slight emo twist). The mid-tempo bop and “Hit Me Back” both featured on Jacob’s major label debut EP, Left Me Hangin’. The six-song set drops on October 6 and is the follow-up to his independently-released The Last Text EP. Pre-order the teenager’s latest here and listen to “Skateboard” below.
