Taylor Swift kicks off the 'Reputation' era with 'Look What You Made Me Do.'

Taylor Swift has got quite the reputation, and she played it up in the music video for her new single, “Look What You Made Me Do.” The 1989 diva premiered the Joseph Kahn-directed video tonight (August 27) at the VMAs, and there’s a lot going on in it. Opening in a cemetery, the 27-year-old emerges from a grave that represents her reputation and proceeds to shade a string of her frenemies.

In just over 4 minutes, Taylor managed to drag everyone from Kanye West and Kim Kardashian to Tom Hiddleston, Harry Styles, the media and the list goes on. She plays a variety of characters and gets into all sorts of trouble. After emerging from her grave, the “Shake It Off” hitmaker cleans up in a bath of diamonds and then recruits a horde backup dancers to break it down in an elaborate room. The pop star also sits on a throne surrounded by snakes, crashes a gold car while cradling one of her many Grammys, vandalizes a private jet and lords over previous versions of herself. As the video comes to a close, these clones come together and repeat some of her quotes including that response to Kimye, “I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative.” Same, girl.

The video created some controversy last week when fans noticed that Swift had lifted some inspiration from Beyonce’s “Formation” visual, and things could get even messier as people continue to dissect the endless references. Taylor referencing her previous moments could draw comparisons to Bey’s Pepsi commercial, while her time as a bird in a cage is pretty similar to Miley Cyrus’ “Can’t Be Tamed” video. Guess that the pop star borrowed from a couple of her faves while dragging her enemies. Check out her shady video up top.

There will be no further explanation. There will just be reputation.
