One To Watch: Liz Huett’s “STFU & Hold Me” Video
Liz Huett got her big break as Taylor Swift’s backing vocalist, touring with the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer for three and a half years. She eventually bowed out to pursue her own music career and promptly landed a deal with Interscope Records. The Riverside, California native dropped her debut single last month and “STFU & Hold Me” is a breezy country-tinged pop anthem with a catchy chorus and relatable lyrics. With production from The Futuristics, it has all the trappings of a radio hit.
The newcomer unveiled the video today and it’s suitably romantic (in a criminal kind of way). Liz and her frequently-shirtless man indulge in a little larceny and then hit the road with a stolen trailer. From there, they drink shots of whiskey, smoke a few cigarettes and get in some target practice. Of course, they still have time for romance and hit up a local gathering to hit the dance floor. Apart from the slight Bonnie & Clyde vibe, this is good, old-fashioned American fun! Watch the visual up top.
