Carly Rae Jepsen Is Back In The Studio
Carly Rae Jepsen is hard at work on the follow-up to her acclaimed 'E•MO•TION' LP.

As any connoisseur of quality music will tell you, Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Cut To The Feeling” is one of the best pop songs of the year. The Sir Nolan-produced banger is a riot of zippy synths, sugar sweet lyrics and general euphoria that all comes together in a monster chorus. It deserves to be a radio-conquering smash, but 2017 won’t let us have nice things. Hopefully, the Leap! soundtrack cut will find a larger audience with the arrival of a largely black-and-white video.

The clip combines behind-the-scenes shenanigans on a Los Angeles soundstage with a cute performance. It’s fairly rudimentary as far as pop videos go, but it’s worth watching for the sheer joy on Carly’s face as she takes the stage with her band (comprised of David Kalani Larkins, Greta Morgan from Springtime Carnivore and James Flannigan). It’s also a relief that there’s no footage from Leap! because, honestly, who has time. Fall in love with “Cut To The Feeling” all over again up top.
