Kesha Announces 'The Rainbow Tour'
Kesha is supporting her comeback album 'Rainbow' with a North American tour.

As Macklemore gears up to unleash his new album, Gemini, Friday (September 22), fans have been clamoring to hear “Good Old Days,” his highly anticipated collaboration with Kesha. They got their wish today as the song was released as the album’s third official single. Although the pair are responsible for contributing some of the fiercest party anthems in recent memory, their first collaboration is a decidedly more stripped-back affair about finding joy in the present day.

“I wish somebody would have told me that some day these will be the good old days,” the Rainbow songstress passionately opens the track over a sparse piano line. “Someday soon, your whole life’s gonna change. You’ll miss the magic of the good old days,” she pensively sings. Macklemore hops on to reflect on his rapid ascent to prominence on the verses. “I just wanted my name in a star, now look at where we are,” he raps about becoming a household name and all the joys and struggles encompassed in that notoriety. With Kesha’s powerful voice resonating under his lyrics, the track comes to an impressive conclusion and promises big things from the forthcoming album.

The somewhat odd couple could have a massive hit on their hands. The single is universally relatable and is a lush, well-produced cut that should find plenty of love on radio and streaming. Kesha has been on a winning streak since finding peace on “Praying” earlier this year, and Macklemore has unleashed a string of promising tracks ahead of Gemini’s release. He’s set to embark on a 21-date tour across North America on October 6. If we’re lucky, he’ll be able to recruit his collaborator to join him onstage for a couple of dates.
