Pop icon Christina Aguilera has been hard at work on her latest album for years now. The 36-year-old hasn’t released an LP since 2012’s Lotus, but that has not stopped her from promising fans that new music is on the way. Countless acts have been tied to the project including frequent collaborator Linda Perry, Kanye West and PARTYNEXTDOOR, but the release is still shrouded in mystery. Today (September 28), she added a new potential collaborator to the list: Mark Ronson.

Earlier this morning some footage has surfaced from Mark’s SnapChat that shows him spending time with Xtina in what looks like a recording studio. One picture captured the “Your Body” siren alongside rapper Anderson .Paak, while a video shows the trio singing along to her debut single “Genie In A Bottle.” There is no official confirmation regarding what they are working on, but it seems likely that she has teamed up with Ronson for a “Uptown Funk” sized hit.

The pair have previously collaborated on her career-defining Back to Basics in 2006. Ronson offered production on the throwback-tinged “Slow Down Baby” and “Without You” and helped write on two tracks including the era’s defining power ballad “Hurt.” The Linda Perry-assisted single peaked inside the top 20 and lives on as one of the best ballads of her career. Here’s hoping that they are able to recapture some of that magic this time around.
