Shania Twain’s Era-Reviving “Swingin’ With My Eyes Closed” Video
I adore Shania Twain and really, really tried to get into “Life’s About To Get Good.” But, as cute as it is, the lead single of the country legend’s comeback album just doesn’t hold up to her exclamation point-littered old material. Then came that regrettable, EDM-tinged buzz track and I kind of gave up on Now. Which I feel stupid about after hearing and seeing “Swingin’ With My Eyes Closed.” An instantly catchy anthem with a massive chorus and serotonin-raising lyrics, this wouldn’t sound out of place on her best-of.
The video was rolled out on Friday (September 29) and it’s a glamorous affair that finds Shania striking dramatic poses in a sheer black dress while dancers perform choreography around her. Things get a little sexy when the flawless 52-year-old rocks a sequined bodysuit in a later scene. It’s amazing how one good song and video can revive your interest in a project. I would have eventually got around to buying Now, but it’s suddenly a lot higher on my to-do list. Watch the eternally gorgeous diva in action up top.
