Charli's Star-Studded 'Boys' Video
Charli XCX is back with a perky bop called 'Boys. Watch the star-studded video.

In case you weren’t glued to your TV screen on Friday night (September 29), Charli XCX belted out “Boys” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The Brit was accompanied by a group of queer identities (I spotted Tzef Montana, Mood Killer, Dorian Electra, Lucy Stoole and Boy Radio), who preened and posed behind her as she delivered a mouthy rendition of the viral hit. It was a little messy and got a mixed response from LGBTQ commentators on social media, but it sure made for entertaining TV.

As for “Boys,” it feels like the song is a little radio airplay or a clever sync away from becoming Charli’s next crossover hit. The perky bop is delivering healthy numbers on Spotify and YouTube (30 million streams and 50 million views, respectively) and has enough pop appeal to find a much larger audience. With any luck, it might also inspire the 25-year-old’s label to get a little bit more enthusiastic about her M.I.A. third LP. Watch Charli’s attention-grabbing foray into late night TV above.

1 night in Nebraska 💕
