The Vamps Recruit Maggie Lindemann For Catchy New Single “Personal”
After building a loyal fanbase with a string of independently-released singles, Maggie Lindemann struck gold with “Pretty Girl.” The Cheat Codes remix of the feisty anthem caught fire on Spotify (its closing in on 300 million streams) and charted around the globe — cracking the top 10 in the UK. It makes sense then that she would team up with that country’s biggest boy band. The Vamps are coming off a monumental hit of their own (“All Night” is truly one of the catchiest songs of the year) and they make the perfect foil for Maggie.
“I’m sick and tired of playing games, I’m sick and tired of being second place,” they lament. “And I know if I never try, I’ll be sick and tired of being sick and tired.” It turns out that their collaborator feels the same way. “I’m sick and tired of being friends, I’m sick and tired of being there,” Maggie sings in her verse. “And I know if I never try, I’ll be sick and tired of being sick and tired.” That leads us to the massive chorus. “Don’t take it personal, but personally,I think you’d be better with somebody like me.”
