Selena Gomez is turning up the heat after unveiling her sublime Marshmello collaboration, “Wolves,” last night. The 25-year-old’s latest single is a shimmering love song, and she is pulling out all the stops to promote it. So far the pair have released a handful of cute visuals, but they are also set to give it a live premiere at the American Music Awards next month.

Today (October 26), Selena was announced as the first performer for this year’s awards show. She will take the stage on November 19 in Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater for her first televised performance in 2017. The “Fetish” singer has a long history with the AMAs. In 2014, she delivered a moving rendition of “The Heart Wants What It Wants” that helped overhaul her image from teen queen to mature pop star. Last year, she bared her heart in a powerful speech while accepting the award for Pop/Rock Female Artist. Expect this year’s appearance to be another pop culture moment.

This AMAs have already generated some controversy with their male-heavy nominations. With a few notable exceptions, women only appear in gendered categories. It is a reflection on the charts, which were dominated by the likes of Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars this summer. However, it is promising to see that Selena is the first performer to be announced. She will be able to show the men how it is done as she performs for the first time since recovering from a kidney transplant at the end of the summer.
