NF (real name Nathan Feuerstein) has a hit on his hands with “Let You Down.” The moving track, which documents the rapper’s strained relationship with his father, is a streaming phenomenon — racking up 78 million+ streams on Spotify. It’s also steadily gaining ground on pop and rhythmic radio, which helped it become the newcomer’s first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. “Let You Down” is currently number 61 and climbing fast. The arrival of an emotional video should accelerate its rise to the top.

Given the song’s lyrical content, it only makes sense that the visual focus on the relationship between a father and his son. The clip depicts a weary old man watching his son drown and then burn up in a flaming vehicle. The somber video concludes with him standing over a coffin. It’s not exactly subtle or light viewing, but it taps into the universally relatable struggle between generations laid out in the lyrics. “Let You Down” is the breakout single from the rapper’s third LP Perception, which recently landed at number one on the Billboard 200. Watch up top.
