Mariah Carey Is In Love With A “Lil Snowman” On Her New Xmas Song
Mariah Carey dropped the soundtrack to All I Want For Christmas Is You (yes, they made an animated movie based on her timeless hit) last night and it features one new song. While “Lil Snowman” isn’t a stirring as “The Star” or as catchy as “Oh Santa,” it’s still a cheerful romp about falling in love with a lump of ice. “Oh, my lil snowman, he’s the finest boy to me (ooh, ooh, ooh),” Mimi croons over a rollicking rock and roll arrangement. “He’s got them pretty little eyes and the biggest belly you’ve ever seen (ooh, ooh, ooh).”
That takes us to the ’50s-inspired chorus. “Oh, my little snowman does what no one else can, you can’t tell me he ain’t for real.” It’s hugely enjoyable fluff or, as the press release boasts, a blizzard of fun. All I Want For Christmas is released on DVD and streaming on November 14. What’s it all about? “When Little Mariah sees a darling little puppy named Princess at the pet store, she suddenly knows exactly what she wants for Christmas,” the synopsis reads. “Before her Christmas wish can come true, she must prove that she can dog-sit her uncle’s dog, Jack.” I’m sold.
