The Spice Girls Announce Splinter Group GEM
Three out of five Spice Girls are reuniting in a new splinter group called GEM.

This is almost too good to be true! According to UK tabloid The Sun (not the most reliable source), the Spice Girls are reuniting in 2018. These rumors emerge at least once a year, but there’s a twist this time. Apparently, Victoria Beckham has signed on. As any Spice fanatic knows, Posh has shown little interest in the group in recent years — vetoing a 2016 attempt that lead to shortly-lived splinter group GEM. “The five of them have been locked in secret talks since the summer, and finally they are all on-board for a 2018 reunion,” a source says.

“As it stands, they will be working together on a series of projects, which will include an album and a TV special celebrating the Spice Girls.” In the article, they specify that it will be a compilation (i.e. a greatest hits) as opposed to their fourth LP. “And getting Victoria to agree has been a coup for everyone involved, given she has always been the person holding back on a reunion. The fact she is on board now is down to how much closer the five of them have become recently.” Cross your fingers that we get at least one new track!
