Demi Lovato Interview
We speak to Demi Lovato about 'Simply Complicated' and her new album.

Demi Lovato is the latest artist to drop by the Spotify Studios in NYC and lay down a couple of live tracks. The pop star belts out current single, “Tell Me You Love Me,” as well as a surprise cover of Aretha Franklin’s “Ain’t No Way.” The classic ballad has previously been interpreted by vocal legends like Whitney Houston and Christina Aguilera, so the bar has been set pretty high with this one. However, the 25-year-old holds her own — waiting until the end of the song to really pull the trigger.

“Ain’t No Way” is a nice way to close out Demi’s impressive 2017. She finally stepped out of the shadow of other ex-acts, landing a massive top 10 hit with “Sorry Not Sorry” and earning rave reviews with her Tell Me You Love Me LP. And the hits should continue to flow in 2018 with the title track of her album steadily gaining ground on pop radio. That, combined with an elaborate video and heavy promo schedule, means we will see and hear a lot more from the hitmaker in the new year. Listen to her soulful cover below.
