Melanie Martinez Denies Rape Allegations
The pop star released a new statement denying rape allegations made against her.

Melanie Martinez has posted a new song on SoundCloud, which specifically addresses the sexual assault allegations made against her by Timothy Heller. The pop star has already released two statements denying the claims, but she goes into a lot more detail on “PIGGYBACK.” The song begins by outlining the 22-year-old’s journey as an artist. “Trusted too many fake people while I was still young,” she sings over a simple electronic arrangement. “Gave them the benefit of the doubt, I was so wrong.”

The Cry Baby hitmaker responds to the rape allegations in the chorus. “I’m so done with playing piggy back, swear to god I wished y’all all the best,” she begins. “You’re lying your way to try and gain a piece of me when you could never come close cause I know my destiny.” Melanie then goes on the offensive. “I worked hard for my shit, put my love in this shit,” she sings. “Now you’re trying to kill my name for some fame, what is this?” Stream the song below and read the lyrics here.
